Impressions

What are Impressions?
Impressions on LinkedIn refer to the total number of times your post or ad appears on someone's screen. This includes multiple views from the same user but does not count engagements like clicks or reactions.

Where do I find Impressions?
To find Impressions on LinkedIn, go to your page and click Analytics → Updates, and look for the Impressions metric under each post. This shows how many times your content appeared on users' screens. This feature is available for Company Pages, not personal profiles.

Why are Impressions Important?
LinkedIn Impressions are important because higher impression totals indicate strong reach, and can be used to differentiate from engagement metrics that help measure true audience interaction.

How to improve your Impressions metric?
To improve Impressions on LinkedIn, post consistently with engaging content, use relevant hashtags, and optimize post timing when your audience is most active. Encourage employee advocacy, interact with others’ posts, and leverage LinkedIn Ads to expand your reach. Additionally, vary content formats (videos, carousels, polls) to boost visibility in the LinkedIn algorithm.

How frequently should I track this?
It’s important to track Impressions as part of your regular monthly social reporting as well as for individual campaigns or important pieces of content.
